Donate to Support the Wolves of Speedwell

Since 1980 Wolf Sanctuary of PA has been caring for displaced wolves and wolf-dogs in need of a home. Over the years we have been very grateful for those who have donated to support the wolves, volunteered their time, or visited for our tours and in so doing helped us to continue to care for all of our rescues who have a home here. With over 50 wolves and wolf-dogs, we need your help to ensure that we can continue to provide for their care.

Wolf Sanctuary of PA is a non-profit 501c3 with no state or federal funding. We maintain the well-being of the wolves only through your generous donations. Please invest in Wolf Sanctuary of PA, and help us to continue to care for these mysterious and misunderstood creatures.

Support the Wolf Habitat Fund and help the wolves thrive!

Contribute towards ongoing wolf habitat maintenance and repair projects. Your donation helps to provide necessary repairs, improvement projects, and general habitat upkeep and maintenance. Your donation will also help to support some of our latest projects such as: new fencing to create introduction areas for rescues to meet each other in a safe space when forming a new pack; and a new enclosure to provide an alternate space if needed during introductions or moves. These projects are necessary to ensure that the wolves enjoy a lifelong home that keeps them safe and also provides enrichment to engage their mind and keep them active.

Injured wolf receiving vet care

Donate towards our Veterinary Care!

Veterinary care can be quite expensive when caring for over 50 gray wolves and wolf-dogs. Aside from routine checkups and preventative medications, we also incur high costs from unexpected surgeries and treatments as well as daily medications that many of our residents require. Please donate today towards our veterinary care and help the wolves who need it most right now.

Donation for Veterinary Care

The wolves need your help! Veterinary care is not cheap and we have had several urgent surgeries this year on top of our typical checkups and medications. Please consider donating towards the wolves’ veterinary care today!

Mika

Mika needs your help! Mika is one of the sanctuary’s most beloved wolves. She and Spirit have lived together at the sanctuary for over 9 years and have been a favorite on tours throughout that time. On April 7, we noticed Mika was not herself. Normally a ravenous eater, she was completely ignoring any offered food which was an alarming sign. After consulting our vet we attempted some medications and scheduled an appointment for her for additional testing. Unfortunately on the morning of April 11, a few days before her scheduled appointment, her condition had become severe and waiting was no longer an option. We quickly rented a truck and hit the road with Mika. A preliminary ultrasound suggested a foreign object had punctured her stomach, which was causing gasses and stomach fluids to leak into her abdomen. This being a very serious issue, we began prepping for surgery as soon as possible. Surgery went well, though her blood pressure was low afterwards, which was a serious concern. During surgery, the doctors determined that there was not a foreign object and the perforation of her stomach wall was likely caused by an ulcer or a tumor. They sent tissue off for biopsy. After a few days in the hospital recovering, we were thrilled that Mika was cleared for release to continue her healing journey at home. Mika has been slowly building up strength day by day, but she still has a long way to go.

We are not out of the woods! This surgery has been very expensive thus far and her ongoing  treatment will continue to add to the costs. Please consider contributing towards Mika’s surgery and treatments. Thank you for caring for Mika. We will provide an update once we know more.

Shawnee

Shawnee

Shawnee has always been lively, with a spring in her step and affection towards anyone who visits her. She has been through a lot in the last year after a cancerous tumor was removed from her leg. After initial rounds of medication to combat the cancer, it was clear that Shawnee was not responding well to the treatments so we opted to not proceed. Thankfully the tumor had been removed with good margins and the cancer has not returned.

This March, though, Shawnee seemed under the weather again. She was limping heavily on her rear right leg. After examination, it was determined that she had torn her ACL. Thankfully, her cancer had not returned so she was cleared for surgery. ACL surgery is very expensive and coupled with her cancer treatments from last year, Shawnees veterinary bills continue to climb. Please consider helping to fund Shawnees surgery. Help out girl get back on her feet!
