Interested in visiting?

Wolf Sanctuary of PA offers guided educational tours to view the wolves and learn about gray wolf conservation and biology. The only way to visit Wolf Sanctuary of PA is by visiting for a guided tour or event. All tours require a reservation.

During a guided tour, our knowledgeable and passionate volunteer tour guides lead you through the sanctuary to get a glimpse at the hidden lives of wolves and to introduce you to the unique personalities of the rescues who call the sanctuary home. We open availability for Private Tours on the 1st of each month when our tour guide schedules become available. Public Tour availability is opened to minimum capacity at the beginning of the year, then additional availability is added on the 1st of each month if we have additional guides available.

The Gift Shop is open during tour ours or by appointment. Items from the Gift Shop can be ordered through our online gift shop or by contacting us.  All proceeds from tours and gift shop sales also directly benefit the wolves.

The only tour with an age restriction is our Full Moon Fundraiser since it is in the evening. For the Full Moon Fundraiser, children under age 16 are not permitted to attend. All other tours are open to visitors of all ages.

It typically depends on the age group. The tour may not be appropriate for children under age 5 due to the length and nature of the tour. The only age-restricted tour is our Full Moon Fundraiser – visitors must be 16 or older to attend this tour. All other tours do not have an age restriction.

Note also that there is no playground at the facility and children are not allowed to run, wander or behave loudly while visiting. To maintain a peaceful and serene environment for our animals and other guests, we require children to be monitored at ALL TIMES. It is imperative that parents keep their children close by and on the trails. Any parent or child not respecting our policies will be asked to leave immediately.

We no longer require masks to be worn during our tours or in our gift shop.

During the Public Tour guests have an opportunity to view a little over half of the wolves. During the Private Tour guests tour the entire facility and have an opportunity to view all of the packs. We never promise how many you will actually see as it is dependent on the mood of the animal and the weather that day. Thank you for your understanding.

All guests and visitors view the wolves from behind/through 1 to 2 sets of fencing, with 3×3 to 3×6 inch wide gaps. Guests are not permitted to reach over or through any fencing in accordance state laws, insurance requirements, and our mission and goals.

There is no direct interaction between visitors and the wolves in accordance with state laws, insurance requirements, and our mission and goals.

Pets are not permitted on the property at any time.

Video is prohibited. Photos are permitted (and encouraged!) though lenses must be less than 5 inches in length for all tours. Tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not permitted.

The trails are unpaved, natural grass, rocks, and dirt similar to what you might see at a public park. The majority of the public tour is on a relatively flat surface, though there is a relatively steep hill back to the parking area at the end of the tour. For some tours we have a vehicle option to transport visitors up to the parking area, and we also allow one member of the party to drive down to pickup others at the bottom.

The length of the tour is approximately 1/4 mile and the pace is leisurely. Guides will stop at each pack for 10 minutes or so to provide information about the wolves here and about wolf conservation and biology. There are benches along the tour route as well, and though some areas are in full sun, other areas are in the shade.

Guests are not permitted to bring alcohol to the property at any time.

Smoking is only permitted in designated areas. Smoking is not permitted near the wolf enclosures or bonfire area.

There is no picnic area or campground on the property. Guests are only permitted on the property during guided tours.

Payment is typically required at the time of booking, except for our full moon fundraisers and special events for which you can pay on arrival. Payment can be made through our online booking system or by booking over the phone. If you are a guest of the Speedwell Forge B&B, or if you are paying with a gift certificate or other alternative payment, please contact us to book your tour. All tour proceeds help the wolves.

All tour funds directly benefit the wolves.
